Description
The new headquarters of the Red Cross Provincial Assembly is located on a site ceded in 2007 by the Urban Planning Department and located in the Noreña area, between the old Palma del Río highway and Isla de Tabarca street.The building, designed by the architect Francisco Daroca, has a built area of 3,917 square meters and is divided into four floors and a basement.The archives, warehouses and the car park of the new Red Cross administrative building occupy the basement. On the ground floor are the entrances to the property, the reception, the assembly hall, the cafeteria, the warehouses and the parking lot dedicated to ambulances. The first floor is dedicated to the areas of youth, training, health, relief and emergencies. In addition, on the same floor, there is a living area for volunteers. On the other wing, the areas of employment, social inclusion, immigrants and volunteering are distributed on the second floor. Finally, the third floor is used for the secretariat, presidency, protocol and meetings.The set is developed with a resounding volumetry, whose façade refers to the stereotomy of the stone that seems to have been carved to house the complex program inside. The colored glass of the rooms facing the interior courtyard compose the emblem of this ngo and mark the entrance.(Description provided by the architects )
