Description

This planning strategy is made up of several projects which, taken together, have succeeded in reclaiming a disused part of the riverfront as a public space. The works carried out include: new parks, new pleasure piers, play areas and shopping and entertainment areas. Inspired by the traditional two storey leisure piers of the 19th century, Pier 15 is the hub of activity in the public space. This small building includes a cafeteria and a maritime education centre, as well as a viewpoint walk with unique views in this part of the city. Some of the most popular elements of the project are:- a rail seat that offers a resting place for passers-by or even an alternative place to work for a while, as it is the perfect width for a laptop. - the steps, which reach almost right down to the water, providing uninterrupted views of the bay.
