Description

The extension of the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid occupies a triangular site adjoining the Sabatini building, which until then constituted the museum in its entirety. The project organises the added programme, which includes a library, an auditorium, office spaces and exhibition spaces in several sections around a triangular plaza. This public space is intended to connect the museum with its urban environment by making it accessible and permeable. A large roof with an immaterial aspect flies over the entire site, coinciding with its limits and introducing the urban landscape through reflections.
