Description
The house was planned as a box built exclusively using lightweight construction methods that could respond positively to the landscape. Its floor plan is simple and traditional, with the different rooms arranged around a barycentric technical core. The goal was to create a house that was cheap to build and live in, a compact building with all the features of a traditional house but without its traditional spirit. When projecting the building on the site, both the cross-section and the topography were planned together, linking the abstract design to a privileged location. The programme was organised from the entrance courtyard up to the flat roof, choosing on each level where to look and how to approach the different views, from the chaparral on which the ground floor sits to the magnificent views to the west and east with the Guadarrama mountain range and Madrid.(Description provided by the architects)
