Description
This set of social housing in Enfield was inspired by the style of London Mews to generate a renewed community lifestyle with a sense of local identity. The 38 homes are located in two bands along an interior street to which their access points are oriented. This allows for numerous opportunities to come face-to-face with the neighbours, so that the street space can gradually become a community space with a sense of belonging for the occupants of the houses. The project pays special attention to the sun, to which the design of the variable shape of the roofs and the different heights is a response, with three floors in the northern part and two in the south. The houses have 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms, which accommodates the mix of different types of families in the community.
