Description
In anticipation of the population growth of the city of Istanbul, Foreign Office Architects (FOA) designed a shopping complex and urban space. This project is presented as a public space for this newly built neighbourhood. Its topographical design manages to provide continuity with the new urban fabric of the city. Instead of mimicking a typical suburban shopping centre, this project proposes a park that is also a commercial space and acts as an urban plaza. In short, it is paradigmatic of the type of growth that the contemporary city is experiencing as a result of its demographic and economic boom.
