Description

This holiday home located in the Arcachon Bay was born from the challenge of building a home with the least possible impact on the existing ecosystem. To avoid the degradation that traditional foundation would cause to the ground, micropiles up to 10 metres deep were installed. Above this grid of concrete pillars rises a box with a metal frame and corrugated aluminium cladding. This box is pierced by numerous pine trees which, thanks to the use of special supports, can survive in such an environment and provide shade during the summer, thus reducing the need for indoor air conditioning. The corrugated aluminium surface reflects the sky and the surroundings, contributing to the feeling of lightness that the house is intended to convey.
