Description

The project arose from the desire to create a building in which all the offices would enjoy natural ventilation and light and which, given the good weather in Guadalajara, would not require the use of air conditioning. There were limitations in terms of the building’s floor area, but not in terms of its height, so the studio decided to make the most of it.The three concrete cores that house all the installations and vertical circulations act as pillars of the building, and thespace between them is open to the sky. This open central space receives natural light from the sides thanks to the elimination of three floors of the building, while the resulting voids are transformed into large windows for the offices that overlook this outdoor area and allow air circulation.A wooden lattice skin, detached from the façade by means of maintenance corridors, acts as a shield against sunlight while allowing the vertical circulation of air, thus preventing the glass of the enclosure from heating up.(Description provided by Carme Pinós Arquitectos)
