Description

This project was approached from a twofold perspective: on the one hand, it acknowledged the importance of restoring a route that disappeared in the 19th century; on the other, the mountain itself and the civil war shelters inside it were activated in order to give them continuity as an extension of the action undertaken. The proposal can be understood as a precise geometrical figure in its response to structural constraints. The finding of this solid constraint strips it of all pretensions in terms of form and makes it focus on a mechanical image.Meanwhile, the office building acts as a continuation of the shelters, in the manner of a retaining wall that houses the rooms of the tertiary programme.(Description provided by the architects)
