Description

The brief strives to form a nocturnal rest area beside les Cols restaurant. The site is an isolated precinct surrounding the les Cols farmhouse, resembling an oasis in the city. With the same structure as vegetable patches, strips of land protected by walls of vegetation, these spaces are generated from partial coverings between the high sheltering walls, and with a descending circulation out where the view and the enjoyment of the night sky become a major feature. It does not involve an evening's rest from a hard day's work but rather from whole lifestyle. Visitors find themselves alone with the night and the emptiness, taking shelter in warmth of the walls, where opaqueness and reflections from the glass in a laminated mass intermingle in a virtuous play of the lights and water, reviving the sense of aspects of nature that had been forgotten.( Description provided by RCR )
