Description
This building was one of the first infrastructures constructed in Barcelona in preparation for the Olympic Games that the city was preparing to hold. The building was located on the urban boundary, between the consolidated city and the outskirts. In this landscape lacking in landmarks, the architects designed a building with an emphatic circular ground plan, which allows a continuous façade to be created and evokes classical architecture. The velodrome, despite the passage of time and the evolution of the surrounding city, remains a powerful landmark in space, a symbol of an era of profound transformations in the city of Barcelona.
