Descripción
The Project is orchestrated through the composition of three architectural bodies, distributed along an axial axis. On the one side, the existing church is preserved under a change of use, as its architecture could not accommodate the new programmatic demand. In order to do so, a new volume is created in front of the old church: a circle inscribed in a square produces a spacial game in section, as well as it results as an imposing visual appeal to the outside with a marked geometry. The circle creates a dramatic vertical 15-meter-high space that welcome the public audience. The geometry of the square remains contained in a lower body, organizes circulations and enables an extra space for flexible use.The union of both success to happen thorugh a third body, a peristyle that forms an interior patio to access the complex, and which has become a highly attractive performative space over time. Once again, it is clear how architecture achieves an added value by articulating social outdoor spaces. Likewise, it is worth mentioning the beauty of view and transparencies reached by the brick latticework on the facade.
