Parc dels Colors

Description

The area extends the park and the civic center is at the periphery of Mollet. The Civic Center hosts the neighbors in his spare time, mostly children and elderly people.From the beginning we wanted to use as a model for our civic center a Romanesque building that was in the park, intending to copy as closely as possible but the building on its site started slowly change, as distinguished from the original model. Although one thing was: the need to climb stairs and ramps through long and also some things changed from the beginning: the stones and earth that supported the construction disappeared, leaving a building suspended in the top of a park continuous.The graffiti invade the walls. The walls of the park suspended make graffiti themselves. The walls repeat the name of the place, repeated letters and the letters are confused over the other and finally only serves to cast shadows on the ground. The building shifting shadows create the place on earth and small changes in the surface down playgrounds, roads, banks, the skating rink, bocce areas ...The vegetation, in a compact mass, defines the different spaces.An artificial vegetation creates the park. It is expressed in artificial colors, strong colors such as giant fruits views from the top. The water comes and goes at different times of the day as the puddles after a rain cyclical. Each window is framed around a spot that is a porch overlooking a landscape nonexistent. The main interest of this project may not directly on himself, but on the terms contained: as the suspension of the building, the graffiti that become architecture, the colors of a painting that is embodied in physical spaces, the spirit of the users, the unexpected connections.(Description provided by the architects)
